Background to Brand Ireland

Tourism Brand Ireland is an initiative, started in 1996, to brand the island of Ireland as a holiday destination. It has evolved
into a highly successful global branding strategy managed by Tourism Ireland. Our brand is our reputation - an idea that resides
in the hearts and minds of our various audiences.

Tourism Ireland undertook a comprehensive Brand Review in 2007 and the outcome of this review is the new campaign "Go where Ireland takes you".  Through undertaking the Brand Review and implementing the new campaign, Tourism Ireland is aiming to further differntiate itself as a holiday destination.

A holiday in Ireland offers unique experiences enabled by its unique character and characters, and our challenge is to translate these experiences into something tangible and enticing, and so to inspire future visitors to consider Ireland for their next holiday.
